Luvox is a medication used to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder. Luvox is available as a brand name or as a generic and comes as an oral capsule or an oral tablet.

Luvox is used to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder in people 8 years of age or older. Luvox increases serotonin the brain to help reduce the symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Luvox is a medication that contains the active ingredient Fluvoxamine. It is typically taken once daily at bedtime.

Common side effects of Luvox include dizziness, upset stomach, dry mouth, fatigue, insomnia, headache, diarrhea or constipation, gas, sweating and signs of a common cold.

Luvox may lead to low sodium levels. Let your doctor know if you experience symptoms of low sodium including confusion, headache, memory issues, weakness or changes in balance.

Luvox can also increase your risk of bleeding. Be aware of symptoms that include throwing up blood, blood in the urine or stool, bleeding from the gums, bruises and any other abnormal bleeding. Get help immediately if you experience unusual bleeding.
