Prevacid is a medication used to treat disorders related to excess stomach acid. Prevacid is available as a brand name or generic drug and comes as an oral capsule or a disintegrating tablet.

Prograf is a medication that contains the active ingredient Tacrolimus. It is used to prevent rejection of transplanted organs after operations such as heart, kidney and liver transplants.

Prograf works by blocking T cell function of the immune system so that it doesn’t attack the new organ. It is typically taken twice daily, but extended-release formulations may only be taken once daily.

Common side effects of Prograf include fatigue, dizziness, headache, constipation, diarrhea, upset stomach, heartburn, insomnia, back pain and nose or throat irritation.

Prograf can increase your risk of getting cancer like lymphoma or skin cancer. Have your skin checked regularly and let the doctor know if you develop a new wart, skin sore, red bumps that bleed or don’t heal or a change in color or size of a mole.

Talk to the doctor if you experience a swollen gland, night sweats, shortness of breath or unintentional weight loss.

Prograf can also increase your risk of serious infections. Prograf weakens your immune system, which makes you vulnerable to infection. Signs of infection can include fever, chills, flu-like symptoms, sore throat or cough.
