Armodafinil is a medication used to treat different sleep disorders. Armodafinil is available as a brand name or generic drug, and it comes as an oral tablet.

Armodafinil is a medication used to improve wakefulness in patients who have obstructive sleep apnea, narcolepsy or issues with sleep due to shift-work disorder. The brand name version of Armodafinil is called Nuvigil.

This medication is typically taken once daily in the morning for narcolepsy and sleep apnea, and it can be taken prior to working for someone who has shift-work disorder.

Armodafinil works in the brain to increase dopamine levels and increase alertness. Common side effects of armodafinil include headache, dizziness, upset stomach, insomnia and dry mouth.
