Avita is a form of Vitamin A that helps the skin regenerate new cells. The generic form of Avita is called Tretinoin.

Avita is typically well tolerated, but it can cause some side effects like a feeling of warmth, stinging, change in color of the skin and other skin reactions like dry, red, swollen or blistered skin.

Use Avita on the skin only. Avoid getting it in your mouth, nose and eyes. Wash your hands before and after use.

Wash the affected skin and pat dry. After washing, wait 20-30 minutes before using. Put a thin layer on the skin and rub in gently.

You may sunburn more easily while taking Avita or Tretinoin. Be sure to use proper sun protection such as hats and sunscreen.

If you have a very bad skin reaction including swelling, peeling, blistering or burning, tell your doctor. Using other skin products including makeup and lotions can increase the irritation that Avita can cause.
