Carvedilol is a medication typically used to treat high blood pressure and other cardiac disorders. It is available as a brand name or as a generic drug and is an oral tablet.

Carvedilol is a beta-blocker. It is used to treat high blood pressure, heart failure and other cardiac disorders. The brand name equivalent of Carvedilol is called Coreg.

Carvedilol is usually taken 1 to 2 times daily, depending on the cardiac condition you are treating. Carvedilol works by blocking beta receptors in the heart. This helps relax your blood vessels and lower your blood pressure.

Major side effects of Carvedilol include fatigue, dizziness, diarrhea, weight gain, joint pain and upset stomach or vomiting.
