Exforge is a medication used to treat high blood pressure. Exforge is available as a brand or as a generic drug and comes as an oral tablet.

Exforge is a medication used to treat people with high blood pressure. It contains a combination of two medications including amlodipine and valsartan. Exforge works to help your blood vessels relax, which lowers your blood pressure.

Exforge is taken once daily, but your dose depends on how your blood pressure responds to the medication.

Exforge is typically well tolerated but can cause dizziness, nose and throat irritation and signs of a common cold.

Talk to your doctor if you experience signs of high potassium while taking Exforge such as abnormal heartbeat, confusion, weakness, dizziness, fainting, numbness or shortness of breath.

Kidney and liver problems can also occur while taking Exforge. Tell your doctor if you experience changes in urination, blood in your urine, yellow skin or eyes or noticeable weight gain.

Use of Exforge during pregnancy can cause birth defects or loss of the pregnancy. If you are pregnant or plan on getting pregnant, talk to your doctor to determine if Exforge is right for you.
