Prednisone is a steroid medication with many different uses, such as controlling allergic reactions and treating skin diseases, arthritis, eye disorders, stomach disorders and more. Your dose of Prednisone will depend on what you are using it for.

Prednisone is a corticosteroid that decreases inflammation, suppresses the immune system and can help control nausea in some situations.

The most common side effects of Prednisone include upset stomach, vomiting, insomnia, restlessness, sweating, dizziness and headache.

Take this medication as directed by your doctor, even if you begin to feel better. Do not stop taking Prednisone without talking to your doctor first. If you have used Prednisone for a long period of time, your doctor may slowly take you off of it over time.
