You do not have to take Valsartan with food, but it may help prevent upset stomach if it makes you sick.

Valsartan helps to lower your blood pressure, but you may not be able to notice. Keep taking valsartan as your doctor prescribed even if you feel better.

Blood pressure medications like Valsartan can sometimes lower your blood pressure too much. Talk to your doctor if you experience any extreme dizziness or pass out. Talk to your doctor if you notice any swelling that isn’t normal for you.

Using Valsartan while pregnant can cause injury or death to the developing fetus. If you are planning on becoming pregnant or become pregnant while taking Valsartan, talk to your doctor about the safest way to discontinue Valsartan immediately.
