  • 67% of Cigna Medicare Advantage customers were enrolled in a plan rated 4-Stars or greater in 2023.1

Some Cigna Healthcare Medicare plans may include prescription drug coverage. Your coverage will depend on which plan you have.

Although Medicare Part A and Part B (also called Original Medicare) do not typically cover most prescription drugs, Medicare beneficiaries can consider obtaining prescription drug coverage by enrolling in a Cigna Healthcare Medicare Advantage plan (also called Medicare Part C) that includes coverage for prescription medication, or a standalone prescription drug plan (Part D).

Some Medicare Advantage Plans May Offer Prescription Drug Coverage

Cigna Healthcare Medicare Advantage plans provide the same benefits as Original Medicare under one plan. A Cigna Healthcare Medicare Advantage plan can also offer some additional benefits not covered by Original Medicare.

Cigna Healthcare Medicare Advantage plans that offer prescription drug coverage are contracted with major retail pharmacy chains, independent pharmacies, grocery store chains and Express Scripts Pharmacy for home delivery.2

The network includes major retail pharmacy chains as well as independent pharmacies, so that you can have convenient access to pharmacies where you live.

You can also choose to mail order your maintenance medications so that your prescriptions are delivered straight to your home at standard shipping costs.

Cigna Healthcare Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plans

A Cigna Healthcare Medicare Part D plan can give you coverage for some of your prescription drug costs, but it won’t offer some of the other benefits that a Medicare Advantage plan or Original Medicare offer.

You are eligible to enroll in any Cigna Healthcare Medicare Part D plan that is available where you live, as long as you are entitled to Medicare Part A and/or enrolled in Medicare Part B.

Cigna Healthcare Medicare Part D plans can offer extensive drug coverage, with over 3,000 medications covered for people on Medicare.3

Like Cigna Healthcare Medicare Advantage plans, these Part D plans give you access to a national network of pharmacies.2

Additional features of Cigna Healthcare Medicare drug plans can include:

  • Plans with no deductibles
  • Plans with expanded gap (or “donut hole”) coverage
  • Plans designed specifically for Medicare beneficiaries who get Extra Help paying for Medicare prescription drug coverage

As a beneficiary of a Cigna Healthcare Medicare Part D plan, you can also access a team of Medicare Part D experts who can help you save money by working with you and your doctor to find lower-cost prescription alternatives to brand-name drugs.

Cigna Healthcare Medicare Plans With Drug Coverage Can Help You Save Money

A Medicare Advantage plan from Cigna Healthcare can help you combine all of your Medicare Part A and Part B health care benefits into one plan that promotes a team approach to your health.

A Cigna Healthcare Medicare plan that includes prescription drug coverage can also help you save money on some of the out-of-pocket costs for the medicine you need.

Given the potentially high costs of medication, prescription drug coverage can be vital both to one’s health and pocketbook.
